Physics Questions
- Preliminary list of general questions
and the measurements needed to address them.
This list is preliminary and will be refined by all WG.
- Initial list of Forward and/or p+A Physics topics.
- Nuclear effects on small-x partons: shadowing, coherence and saturation, e.g.
gluon shadowing from heavy-quark, J/Psi, Psi', Upsilon, hadron production at
forward rapdity
- Energy loss of partons in cold nuclear matter, e.g. for quarks from Drell-Yan
- Modification of fragmentation functions in cold nuclear matter
- Flavor asymmetry of the nucleon sea at small-x with Drell-Yan in p+p & p+d collisions
- Drell-Yan tagged by forward-going baryons
Forward & p+A Topics
- In order to address the questions above different topics need to be investigated.
The feasibility of each proposed measurement as well as its value in understanding the
physics will be discussed and evaluated. The following subtopics are linked to "working"
pages with (soon) plenty of information.
