The CAEN A938AN Negative HV generator and CAEN V288 controller has been purchased to control 10 TOF panels. Harf of these were used at the WA98 experiment at CERN until late 1996 and then shipped to BNL. A second set of 5 panels of PMTs were delivered to BNL in mid 1997.
There are 960 HV channels which supply high voltage to 960 set of TOF Slats with 1920 PMTs on it.
A decision on whether 2 or 4 PMTs will be controlled from a single HV generator has been made. 2 sets of PMTs on same TOF Slat will be supplied high voltage from single HV channel.
The CAEN interface to the Phenix Online Control System
(ONCS) will be a
VME memory mapped controller CAEN model V288. A driver for EPICS
has been written to control the high voltage system.
The test stand to control single A938AN HV generator with 24 HV channels +
a primary HV channel(CAEN specific) has also made so far.

and then panels and HV equipment were shipped to BNL at the end of the WA98 experiment.
It was expected that driver development for the V288 controller
would be started in mid 1996.
Core software to control CAEN A938AN HV generator boards has almost
been developed.
New MVME167 with enough
memory(64/128Mbytes) to operate all HV channels
will be purchased
