EPICS interface to CAEN High Voltage for TOF
Version of R3.13.0.beta12
On General
This version of application has been developed with kind help of Georges at Ecole Polytechnique.
Main differece between the one in beta11 and the one in beta12(in a poin of view of application for high voltage control) is that in beta12 we don't use sequencer programs. All
ther needed programs are in DevSup. The
total EPICS records we have for our CAEN SY527 system are 19016 and are
sumarized here.
Here I only explain the usage of this release, and if you wanna know detail about this release, please contact
me.
Display main window
At the time you logon to proper workstation at PHENIX control room,
default enviromental setup has already been set.
So you can just go to the area where the display programs are placed.
Just type,,,
cd $EPICS_CAEN/dl
You may notice that we are using DM(*.dl files) but MEDM(*.adl files) for control and monitoring our high voltage system 'cause DM is just better to use even from Tsukuba!
Here you can see main display like the following
Here you see general status like On/Off and/or error status like over voltage, over current and under voltage for all of the C.A.E.N SY527 Crates.
And you can also see bottons labeled "more" to see further displays linked from here.
Display "CAENET Status" window
At the bottom of main display in "CAENET Status" area, pushing "more" botton can lead you to the following display.
This display shows you the detailed information about "CAENET ERRORS".
Display Monitoring window
There are 4 "more" bottons for each crate to display window to show you the voltage value for all of the 250 high voltage channels for that crate.
Display Control window
You can only monitor the voltage value on previous window but you can even change the parameters for H.V. on the following window open by pushing "Bd#0" to "Bd#9" bottons at monitoring windows.
The usage of this window is same as the one in previous version of application so you can just refer to this page.
