DC HV TEST STAND LOG

Auxilliary Tests

Prior to the normal suite of tests, the 1469 modules were set (at default trip currents) to 3500 volts, without loads, for several hours.  Tbis was done to assure that an infrequent trip problem noted in the prototypes was no longer present in the new moduels.

Notes:

  1. The first channel of the first bulk supply (B67732_00) fails to deliver current to the load, and voltage cannot be detected on its pin.
  2. These modules, while they did not cause errors during testing, have pins which seem to be either bent or extended outward from their connectors, indicating that the internal solder connections may not be acceptable.
  3. During the Long Term test, several modules had infrequent trips.  These trips diminished in occurance as time past.  Here is a set of plot of their voltage during the long term test.

    Notes:

    1. Channel B68009_00 consistantly produced a current that was more than 1 uA greater than the other channels.  Channel B68009_02 consistantly produced a voltage that was more than 4V greater than the demand, and was never adjusted to be within the Measuered Voltage Dead Zone.  In addition, this module has a High Voltage Limit of -5054, which must be corrected to be below 5kV before it can be used.  This module has been set aside.
Below is a set fo graphs of the two faulty channels.  B69009_00 shows proper voltage behavior, but poor current behavior.  B68009_02 shows but poor voltage behavoir, and acceptable current behavior (the elataved voltage doesn't create enough of a difference to be noticable).  Note the elevations in current and voltage in either case.
