Pattern Recognition Studies
New large set of events becoming available in anticipation of the Mock Data Challenge (this summer)
Much better detector response than previous pattern recognition used:
Better detector representation in PISA, and event generation better tuned
to produce hits from all sources
Detector response tuned to better match real data
Cathode strip fitting improved to fit multiple tracks/try to determine how
many tracks to fit, handle clusters with overflow channels, etc.
Studies performed to date:
Tuned code to work well with single tracks
Tuned code to work well with “moderate” occupancy events
Currently still tuning for high-occupancy Central Au-Au events
For all: look at baseline detector
detector with only 2 chamber gaps at station 3
tracker without anode readout/ no anode + 2 gaps at station 3
