Summary and Outlook

• PHENIX needs an electron trigger

  • with light collision systems, especially p+p
  • single electron trigger seems preferred

• “Ersatz” EMCal level 1 works reasonably well

  • requires a dedicated threshold for electron trigger

• simple EMCal - RICH matching really improves it

  • allows electron threshold < 1 GeV with light collision systems
    • needed for f and charm (single electron) trigger
  • sustains x10 blue book luminosity

• more sophisticated matching ?

• further study of efficiency for signals (J/Y, f, c)
