I joined sPHENIX in May 2023 as a second year Ph.D student at Peking University at the same time sPHENIX began taking data. Therefore, I am still a newbie in sPHENIX.
My focus on sPHENIX experiment separates into two parts. One is heavy flavor physics including quarkonium and open heavy flavor. Another one is doing service work in MVTX group and tracking software group.
I was born in Japan, but I am a Chinese from Fujian province. I got my bachelor’s degree in Sun Yat-sen University before I went to Peking University. I Join in BESIII experiment since I was a sophomore and do some physics analysis about Lambda_c decay. Therefore, I have some experience on physics analysis, but lack of experience on hardware. I hope I can learn some hardware knowledge in sPHENIX to be a true experimental physicist.
Since I am on the half way of Ph.D career, the title of Ph.D thesis has not been fixed. I have finished four physics papers about Lambda_c decay at BESIII and new physics search, so a possible title of Ph.D thesis may be something like heavy flavor physics in BESIII and sPHENIX. I try to make sPHENIX part richer in context. My ideal goal is 50% BESIII and 50% sPHENIX in thesis, and it really depends on my current progress in sPHENIX. My biggest talk highlight would be a parallel talk in Lepton Photon 2023 with title “Charm physics at BESIII”. I hope that I can give a talk on behalf of sPHENIX in the future.
To be honest, it started from a private talk with my undergraduate supervisor in 2022 who is also a member of sPHENIX. He suggested me stepping out of comfort zone (Here it means doing physics analysis at BESIII) and do different experiment to broaden your horizons and learn something new. sPHENIX is a new experiment running p+p, and A+A collisions which is very different from a mature experiment in electron positron collider, so I can learn a lot from that. After that, I read some papers, attended some meetings, and talked with other professors, and I found that heavy ion collision environment is much more complicated than e+e- collision, because it is dominated by QCD effect. People can learn some knowledge about the early stage of universe from heavy ion collision that is super amazing! Therefore, I made such important decision.
Go to gym, running, playing basketball and some other sports. I really like sports to keep me healthy and stronger.
I am NBA fan. My favorite player is Kobe Bryant. My favorite team
is Golden State Warriors.
