Reference MUTR Online Monitoring Ooutputs for SHIFT CREWS (Updated 08/20/2001 MXL) Shift crew should check MUTR Online Monitoring Outputs regularly, and pay special attention to these 5 STAR plots: Plot1 (FEM readout problem), Plot2 (zero-suppresion) Plot6 (GLVL-1 delay problem) ------------------------------------------ -*****- Plot1: AMU Cells: This one plots amu address differences relative to the 1st sample: sample2-sample1[== 5, in green color]; sample2-sample1[== 6, in green color]; sample2-sample1[== 7, in green color]; If the differences are other than the above numbers, they will show up in RED color in the plot, indicating possible FEM readout problem. IF the fraction of RED colored part is over 1%, check MUTR error messages and CALL MUTR EXPERTS !!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------- -*****- Plot2: Zero-Supp Ratio: This value is defined = (total # of strips passed zero-supp)/(total # of electronic channels) At 3RMS cut, the mean value of this variable is about 2%. This value can go up if there are more "hot" channels; it can also go down if less channels are active (HV down etc.) IF the mean value is over 5% in zero suppresion mode, CALL MUTR EXPERTS !!!!!!!!!!!!! -------------------------------------------- -- Plot3: Station 1: Hits per plane: This is a profile of average number of hits(=strips passed zero-supp) per cathod plane in station 1. Starting from left: octant-1/plane-1, octant-1/plane-2 ... to octatn-8/plane-6. -- Plot5: Station 2: Hits per plane: Similar to Station-1. -- Plot7: Station 3: Hits per plane: Similar to Station-1. --------------------------------------------- -**- Plot4: Timing: (S2-S3)red; (S4-S3)blue: Histograms of {ADC[Sample2]-ADC[sample3]} in RED color and {ADC[Sample2]-ADC[sample3]} in BLUE color Since we want sample3 to sit on the peak of pulse, the mean values of above two variables should be positive.(see Plot6 for reference) --------------------------------------------- -*****- Plot6: Amplitude vs time: This is the profile of signal pulse: sample-1 is on the rising edge and sample-2,3,4 are on the peak; smaple-3 should be the highest point. If sample-3 is not at the maximum, there is a potential problem in GLVL-1 deley! CALL MUTR EXPERTS!!!!!!!!!! --------------------------------------------- -- Plot8: Sam3 - ped: histogram of {ADC[sample3]-Pedestal}, the signals ---------------------------------------------
