PHENIX Hard Scattering PWG

The General Question of Comparison Data for Hard Scattering:
p-p, p+A, B+A.

  1. What can you (do you need to) learn to interpret the A+A data?
  2. Can you tell enough information from the centrality dependence or A-dependence in A+A to convince yourself that you don't need p-p, p+A B+A:
  3. Estimate how much p-p, p+A, B+A comparison data you need for a given A+A integrated luminosity.
  4. Cronin effect: $k_T$, $\langle p_T^2 \rangle$ vs $A$ and $E_T$ in p+A, A+A.
  5. Prepare a plan for p-p, p+A physics topics which are interesting in their own right (i.e. independently of whether a QGP exists) with and without spin:
