The event-display interface includes a toolbar, with buttons for some common operations.
Here are descriptions of the various controls:
reads the next event from the event-data files, processes the data, and displays the results. This action is disabled until one or more event-data files is opened.

A small window will pop up; type the event number in the space provided and select the OK button (or mash the Return or Enter key on your keyboard). This action is disabled until one or more event-data files is opened.
enables or disables zoom-in mode. In zoom-in mode, any click with the left mouse button in a pad expands the view in that pad. The new view is centered about the position of the mouse when you clicked.
enables or disables default-zoom mode. In default-zoom mode, any click with the left mouse button in a pad restores the default view (original size and center) in that pad.
enables or disables zoom-out mode. In zoom-out mode, any click with the left mouse button in a pad shrinks the view in that pad. The new view is centered about the position of the mouse when you clicked.
enables or disables pan mode. In pan mode, any click with the left mouse button in a pad shifts the center of the view to the position of the mouse when you clicked.
When you are finished working with the display, you can exit ROOT in any of the usual ways (select Quit from the menu on the display window, type .q from the command line, etc.).
